After dropping a seventh straight game that pushed the team on the brink of elimination, Chicago Bears' fans are ready to turn the page on the 2024 season.
It's clear what needs the Bears have going into next season and the team has plenty of assets to address those concerns and hopefully rebound in 2025 with nearly $80 million in cap and three picks in the Top-50 at the moment.
The main needs the Bears need to focus on are in the trenches on the offensive and defensive line. The team could also use another pass catcher if wide receiver Keenan Allen walks in free agency.
Our A to Z Sports draft analyst AJ Schulte dropped his latest two-round mock draft on Monday and had the Bears addressing both trenches and adding another young weapon to grow with quarterback Caleb Williams with their top three selections.
9. Chicago Bears: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
AJ: "I could go a few ways here for the Bears, but the talent pool isn't really matching their needs here. However, they could stand to add more to their pass rush. Mykel Williams is raw, but the traits are undeniable. He's 6'5, 265 pounds with nearly 36-inch arms and he knows how to use his frame, especially in the run game."
Kole: AJ is spot on with analyzing this need for the Bears. Chicago really needs a standout edge rusher opposite Montez Sweat to take this defense to the next level and no one has been able to step up this season. Ideally, you'd like to beef up the OL with this pick, but with a freak athlete on the board, Williams is hard to pass on.
35. Chicago Bears: Wyatt Milum, OL, West Virginia
Kole: With the Bears' second pick of the draft and first of the second round, AJ had Chicago coming back around to add to the offensive side of the trenches in West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum.
This season, Milum started 11 games at left tackle for West Virginia, allowing 0 sacks and 8 pressures on 356 pass blocking snaps, per PFF. Milum has been a standout starter at left tackle for three years now and would be a solid future replacement for Braxton Jones at the position for the Bears.
41. Chicago Bears: Evan Stewart, WR, Oregon
Kole: In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bears splashed on an offensive weapon from one of the best offenses in college football by drafting Rome Odunze. With this pick, AJ has the Bears following a similar trend landing one of No. 1 Oregon's top weapons in Evan Stewart in the second round.
Heading into the College Football Playoffs, Stewart is second on the team with 613 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Stewart is as sure-handed as it comes with 48 receptions and only two drops. The Bears' offense has missed having a true downfield weapon this season, Stewart can be that downfield guy for the future of this offense. In terms of hands, speed, and athleticism, he's a solid prospect to target on Day 2.
