Hours before the Kansas City Chiefs take the field versus the Philadelphia Eagles for Super Bowl LVII, a question has crept back into the minds of Chiefs fans around the country.

What if a second Super Bowl ring results in head coach Andy Reid's retirement?

When asked about the possibility, Reid didn't shoot down the idea. At least that's what FOX reporter and NFL insider Jay Glazer is reporting hours before Super Bowl LVII.

Glazer said HC Andy Reid claimed: "I have a decision I have to make after this game."

Talk about a way to freak out Chiefs fans before the big game.

If there's one thing we know is that as long as Reid and Patrick Mahomes are together, they will be able to be legit Super Bowl contenders every year. If age wasn't a factor, they would very well be in a position to mimic the New England Patriots' epic two-decade run under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady.

But age is a factor. Reid is going to turn 65 years old in March. Think about this: He was 24 years old when he started as a graduate assistant coach at BYU in 1982.

That's a long time coaching football.

If Reid decides to hang it up after a hypothetical win on Super Bowl Sunday, no one can blame him. But then again, everyone is intrigued about the alternative. If he stays, the Chiefs can rival the greatest of dynasties in league history.

Reid is at the wheel for a Chiefs team that has won 74 games over the last 5 seasons (incl. playoffs), tied with the 2014-18 Patriots for 2nd-most by any team in a 5-year span in NFL history per NFL Media Researchers.

Can he move on from that?

We'll find out soon enough.
