Mahomes, the son of former MLB pitcher Pat Mahomes, is probably a better football player because of his time as a baseball player. Some of Mahomes' unorthodox throws on Sundays look like they're straight from a baseball field.
One of Mahomes' top baseball moments in high school came in a game in Texas against a future MLB pitcher.
Mahomes threw a no-hitter while striking out 16 batters in a duel against Michael Kopech, a first-round MLB draft pick who currently pitches for the Chicago White Sox.
Is there anything Mahomes can't do? I do not doubt that Mahomes would be playing in MLB right now if he had chosen the baseball path over the football path.
Chiefs fans, however, are certainly happy he eschewed baseball in favor of football.
