The Kansas City Chiefs have had some guys come and go on their squad the last few years. One of the guys who often gets forgotten about but was a fan favorite is Marcus Kemp, who was actually pretty good when he got his chance to play.
Recently, Patrick Mahomes was asked about Kemp and him being from Hawaii, and he had nothing but great words for the former Chiefs receiver.
"He came in with me through the draft. I mean, he was an undrafted guy, but I worked with him a ton on the side in that first year when I wasn't playing. He's a great guy. I love the state of Hawaii [Where Kemp is from]; I got married there. So it's something that's near and dear to my heart… Marcus Kemp's one of my favorite teammates of all time," Mahomes said."
As for Kemp, he let everyone know he was blessed to be able to work with a guy people are now calling the greatest of all time or even the second greatest of all time.
Blessed I got to go to work with these dudes for as long as I did. Honored to have walked the halls with 15.
During his time with the Chiefs, Kemp had four catches for 42 yards, all of which came from Mahomes. When he did play, he produced, but he played a ton of special teams as well. Mahomes did get to know him very well in that 2017 season, which is a big reason they speak so kindly of one another.
