The college football world is turning on its axis, as the conference realignment issue is only getting worse – if that's how you look at it, as an issue.
Now, more teams in the Pac-12 are moving, whether it be to the Big 12 or Big 10. Only four teams remain in the Pac-12 for the 2024 season. Stanford is one of those teams, which is the alma mater of safety Justin Reid.
On Saturday, he was asked about how to fix the remaining four teams.
"Yeah, that's a good question. I don't know where they're going to go. Like, I feel like it's going to end up being a four-conference scene," Reid told reporters. "They got four playoff teams, maybe they push it to eight down the road, but I feel like it's going to be a four-conference scene. Four playoffs, probably similar to the NFL, two divisions of north and south or east and west.
"And, you know, you're just battling for those four spots. It's probably the way that I see it going. So it's just wondering how things are going to end up getting split between PAC 12, Big 10. The Big 12, ACC, and PAC 12 conferences will probably be a lot of Big 10 and Big 12. Maybe. Stanford goes independent like Notre Dame, but Notre Dame is technically AC C now when it comes to football. So, you know, it's, it's kind of the wild, wild west."
Reid also tweeted something similar about the issue that puts things into perspective when you think about it.
"20 years from now, I'm gonna be telling some kids that I played in the PAC 12 conference, and they will have no idea what that is," Reid wrote.
Something that's even crazier is he will be able to tell his kids in 20 years that he was a Super Bowl champion.
