The Kansas City Chiefs starting safety is letting everyone know how he feels about his game.

The Chiefs' defense is much better than it has been in the last few years. Even last year, they were a defense that teams couldn't just run over. They had times where the defense quite literally won them games. Much of that is because of the secondary and how everyone in that unit outperformed their expectations. Give credit to Justin Reid, who came into a new place and became a leader. He also wasn't bad on the field either.

The Chiefs wanted to move on from Tyrann Mathieu, so they didn't extend him and instead got Reid. Now, Reid played very well last season. He believes he is one of the best safeties in the league and even doubled down on that via Twitter.

Where does this tweet come from? Well, EA Sports' Madden is releasing their ratings for the top 10 players at every position, and Reid was nowhere to be found on the list. Reid is the 33rd-rated safety overall in the game.

That's low, for sure. Now, is he top-two? No. He is not top 10. However, he is much, much better than 33rd. I'd have him in that 15-20 range if it were up to me. Reid was very good, but some guys were better than him.

But he should only use this as fuel to the fire in 2023. Let's see if Reid can have a career year next season.

Reid, Chiefs, Cardinals

Chiefs’ S Justin Reid is already doing stuff Tyrann Mathieu could never do

The Kansas City Chiefs faced some adversity in terms of health early in the Week 1 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Harrison Butker, maybe the second bet kicker in the league behind Justin Tucker, was injured during a kickoff attempt. He rolled his ankle while kicking the ball, and was seen on the golf cart […]
