The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. While, historically, the Lions have been pretty bad, they are a promising young team right now that was very close to making the playoffs last season.

This game won't be one where the Chiefs will get an automatic win. Even the last time the two teams played each other in 2019, it wasn't. The Chiefs ended up winning in Detroit 34-30, in which the game featured the crazy play from LeSean McCoy, where he gave the ball to Travis Kelce as he was being tackled.

Now, they are a much better team, with a young offense that can put up some points and some studs on the defensive side of the ball. One of those studs is already talking about the game, and he can't wait to play the Chiefs in Week 1.

"Dude, I mean, are you kidding me? That was my first thought because of these primetime games I get so pumped for," Aidan Hutchinson said to Rich Eisen. "There's nothing quite like these primetime games. When I saw we opened up with KC at KC, life doesn't get much better than that. I'm so excited for the challenge ahead. I think it's going to be a hell of a game, and, man, I've had my eyes set on this game since the moment they released it. We'll be ready; we'll be ready to go."

Who doesn't want to play the best team in the league, the defending champions and the team most are considering the start of a dynasty? Sure, it's Week 1, so the game isn't as important as a playoff game, but it does help in bragging rights for the Lions.

Hutchinson is one of the best defensive ends in the league, and he is only 22 years old. The Chiefs' rearranged offensive line will have their first test in Week 1.
