Things are lovely when it comes to the Cincinnati Bengals these days. They have won five of their last six games, including three straight.
It was believed that the Bengals' win over the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday would feature Ja'Marr Chase after quarterback Joe Burrow said that he expected his top receiver to play. However, the Bengals let Chase sit out his fourth consecutive game with a hip issue despite his efforts to make it back.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, this Sunday is when Chase is expected to suit up again when the Bengals host the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC title game rematch from a season ago.
If Chase is back in action, the Chiefs' secondary may end up having some unpleasant flashbacks. When the Bengals and Chiefs met in the regular season in 2021, Chase set a team record with 266 yards and three touchdowns, catching 11 of his 12 targets. He only produced 54 yards in the AFC championship but added his fourth score against the Cheifs in two games.
Chase was having his best stretch of the season before his injury as he put over 130 yards and two touchdowns in the last two games he played in. The Bengals' offense held down the fort well without Chase, but his return, if that's this Sunday, makes them elite again.
