The Cincinnati Bengals have major problems on their hands. They dropped a second-straight AFC North game and sit at 0-2 to start another season. On top of that, Joe Burrow aggravated his strained calf at the end of the game when he finally started to look like his normal self.
Despite all of this, NFL sportsbooks are very confident in the Bengals winning their next game, which is a Monday Night matchup at home against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Bengals opened as 6.5-point favorites to win next Monday evening at Paycor Stadium according to DraftKings, but the line is already down to a 5.5-point spread.
It's not even Monday afternoon yet, and the line is already moving. That's definitely notable, but the fact that the 0-2 Bengals were still considered touchdown favorites despite looking lackluster in their first two games is a bit surprising. The Rams are a 1-1 team that just lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 30-23, and their offense looks sharp even without top weapon Cooper Kupp.
The line will largely lean on the health of Burrow, who was unsure about the status of his calf right after the conclusion of Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. If Burrow ends up missing practice this week, the line will definitely shift towards the Rams as the game gets closer.
If Burrow is okay to play, then the progress the Bengals' offense showcased in the second half against the Ravens justify's the betting market. Cincinnati should be able to score against Los Angeles' defense at home with a healthy Burrow.
The question is, will Burrow be healthy in a week's time?
