The Cincinnati Bengals are 0-2, again, and Joe Burrow is still nursing his calf injury that he suffered back in late July. It showed at the very end of the Bengals' 27-24 loss to the Baltimore Ravens when Burrow limped off the field following his second touchdown of the game, which happened to be the offense's final play of the day.
After the game, Burrow told reporters it's "tough to tell" if his calf injury will be something that lingers throughout the season.
Burrow showed a little more mobility in his second game of the year, but upon scrambling out of the pocket to find Tee Higgins in the end zone for the second time, he showed a notable limp walking to the sideline and was using a massage gun on his calf.
According to head coach Zac Taylor, Burrow would've returned to the game had the Bengals gotten the ball back.
Considering the tough player Burrow is, him fighting through the pain to finish the game wouldn't be surprising. That he showed noticeable discomfort, however, is not a great sign moving forwards.
"I don't know how I'm going to feel the next couple of days. Just day-to-day," Burrow said of his calf after the game.
The Bengals going down 0-2 is bad enough, if Burrow's calf is continuing to give him trouble nearing two months since the initial injury, it's concerning no matter what the head coach says.
Burrow will continue to be featured on the team's injury report this week, we'll see if he's limited or full.
Bengals drop to 0-2 again, fall 27-24 in home opener to Ravens
Another rough loss for Cincinnati that drops them further down the AFC North pecking order.
