Indictments have been made on three men believed to have burglarized Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's Cincinnati home.
The three defendants, alleged to be members of a South American Theft Group according to the FBI in Cincinnati, were arrested this week for "federal crimes related to the burglary" of Burrow's residence. They are pictured below in possession of several items such as Burrow's jewelry.
The three individuals are Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 22, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, 23, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, 38, all of Chilean origin. They allegedly burglarized Burrow's home the night of Dec. 9 when Burrow and the Bengals were playing a Monday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Per WLWT's Karin Johnson, all four men pictured below have been charged in Clark County for stealing nearly $300,000 worth of goods from Burrow. Johnson was able to find an non-blurred picture of the suspects.
The larger group the suspects are allegedly a part of is believed to transport stolen goods across the country. Per Dave Collins of the AP, the incident that happened at Burrow's residence has similarities to other break-ins that have happened to other notable athletes.
In court documents, investigators haven’t publicly connected the Dec. 9 burglary at Burrow’s home in Cincinnati to other thefts reported at other high-profile athletes’ houses, but the complaint released Wednesday said there were similarities in many of the break-ins and the investigation is ongoing. – AP's Dave Collins
In New York, Dimitriy Nezhinskiy, 43, and Juan Villar, 48, were charged by federal authorities for "acting as fences" for the South American theft gang. The two are operators of a pawnshop in New York City’s Diamond District. Per Rob Banks of JCK, Nezhinskiy and Villar are allegedly connected to half the crew sent to burglarize Burrow's home.
Phone records and video surveillance link Nezhinskiy to at least two members of a four-man burglary crew that was said to be involved in the Dec. 9 burglary of the Ohio home of a “high-profile athlete,” the letter said. News accounts have identified the athlete as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Four men were arrested in January for the Burrow robbery. – JCK's Rob Banks
Indictments have been made, but a trial in front of a grand jury has yet to take place. Any sentencing would result from that.
