The Green Bay Packers have been active in free agency over the past few seasons. In 2024, the team signed safety Xavier McKinney and running back Josh Jacobs. Last year, they added left guard Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs. That’s the nature of free agency — it works greatly sometimes, and not as well at different points.

Now, the Packers start a pivotal 2026 league year. With Jordan Love and Micah Parsons under contract for several seasons, it’s the true beginning of a championship window, and the players Brian Gutekunst add can be extremely helpful to reach a Super Bowl — or some bad decisions can make the road tougher.

So, let’s keep track of every move Green Bay makes over the next few days.

Packers external additions

Re-signings

  • The Packers have extended center Sean Rhyan on a three-year, $33 million contract ahead of free agency.
  • The Packers re-signed backup offensive lineman Darian Kinnard on a one-year contract worth up to $3.75 million.
  • Green Bay keeps both linebackers/special teamers Nick Niemann and Kristian Welch.
  • Exclusive-rights free agent CB/WR Bo Melton is also back, as expected.
  • The Packers didn’t tender RFA Brenton Cox Jr., but re-signed him on a one-year, $2.5 million deal.
  • Defensive tackle Jonathan Ford and tight end Josh Whyle also re-signed for less than what they would get with an RFA tender.
  • The Packers tendered ERFA offensive lineman Donovan Jennings and cornerback Kamal Hadden.

Departures

Other notes

  • The Packers didn’t apply a restricted free agent tender on running back Emanuel Wilson, making him an unrestricted free agent. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks. Because the Packers didn’t tender him, Wilson doesn’t count toward the compensatory pick formula even though he became an unrestricted free agent.
  • Safety Zayne Anderson won’t get a restricted free agent tender either. He signed with the Miami Dolphins.
  • The Packers didn’t tender ERFA interior offensive lineman Lecitus Smith, making him an unrestricted free agent.
