For the second time in 2024, tests provided relief for the Green Bay Packers after an injury to quarterback Jordan Love. After the knee injury early in the season was an MCL sprain, the groin issue that made Love go out early against the Jacksonville Jaguars is just a strained groin.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero from NFL Network reported the news. Pelissero mentioned that Love is day-to-day, which sounds like a great development for the Packers. This usually means the player has a chance at being on the field in the next game.

"He seemed like in good spirits," head coach Matt LaFleur said on Monday. "If he can go, he'll go. We'll see where he's at by the end of the week. If we feel he can't protect himself, we certainly wouldn't put him in that position."

On Sunday, the Packers face the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field, and Love has a real shot to play. If he can't go on Sunday, Green Bay has a bye in week 10, and Love would be back after that against the Chicago Bears in week 11.

This has been an eventful season for Jordan Love. The quarterback suffered an MCL sprain in week 1, when the Packers played the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. That injury made him miss two games, against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, and he was clearly limited in his first game back, versus the Minnesota Vikings in week 4.

So far this season, Love has completed 61.7% of his passes for 1,547 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions, a 91.8 passer rating.
