The Indianapolis Colts have been significantly more active in the opening stage of free agency than their fan base has grown accustomed to in years past.
So, no matter which moves are being judged on the outside, I think I speak for the fans when I say this approach is preferred over staying passive during the process. Here at A to Z Sports, a couple of our writers went through and shared the worst move by each AFC team. And the one they chose for the Colts might shock you.
Colts signing of safety Cam Bynum labeled the team's worst move of the offseason

"Cam Bynum is a really good player and he solves a big problem for the Indianapolis Colts. To be honest, it only lands as my “worst move” for Indianapolis because I’ve been a big fan of what Chris Ballard has done in free agency.
My only qualm with the Bynum signing is the market value at safety. I can’t help but wonder if the Colts could have gotten a better deal with a different player. Justin Reid or Jeremy Chinn would have been better bang for your buck and served the same purpose."
The move chosen in the article for the Colts was their choice to give former Minnesota Vikings safety Cam Bynum a four-year $60 million contract. Though I understand where they came from, I completely disagree with their choice.
The Colts have needed a ball hawk at the free safety position for quite some time, and Bynum looks like a great fit for Lou Anarumo's defense. If I were to give my worst move for the Colts offseason, it would be their decision to give Daniel Jones such a large deal to compete with Anthony Richardson, though I don't even dislike that move as much as some others seem to. The Bynum signing was a major win for the Colts and their defense for 2025, and I don't think it's going to be a move the team regrets anytime soon.
A shocking recent move by a divisonal rival sets up a perfect opportunity that the Colts need to take advantage of
The Indianapolis Colts stayed busy during the first week of free agency, with the team making multiple notable moves to improve their roster for the 2025 season. There are still many intriguing options available on the free agency market that the Colts could consider adding ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. One of which was […]
Under the radar free agents that the Indianapolis Colts should sign heading into the second wave of NFL free agency
It's been a shockingly active start to free agency for the Indianapolis Colts. The team has already added six outside free agents through the first week of free agency. This is a significant change to the team's plan from a year ago, when they only added two outside free agents to their roster overall, none of […]
