The Indianapolis Colts continue to work toward filling out their roster as the second wave of free agency comes to an end and the third and final wave approaches.

The Colts latest moves have focused on adding depth to thin positions on the team’s roster. One of which included signing seven-year veteran Jonathan Owens.

Owens has had some great success in the NFL, but another intriguing aspect of this signing is that his wife is a legendary American Olympian.

Jonathan Owens’ NFL career stats

Colts’ new safety Jonathan Owens is married to USA superstar Olympian Simone Biles

Owens has had a productive career, starting 35 games with the Texans, Packers, and Bears. As of late, he’s been mostly a depth safety and key special teamer, and now will head into training camp trying to make the Colts 53-man roster. His wife is none other than USA Olympian Simone Biles.

Biles is one of the greatest American Olympians of all time. She has earned 11 medals at the 2016, 2020, and 2024 Olympic Games, including seven golds, two silvers, and two bronzes. This, paired with her success in the World gymnastics championships over the years, has her considered the greatest American gymnast of all time.

Owens marries Biles in April of 2023, and Biles has supported his NFL career throughout their relationship. She became a member of each fan base along the way, and now she will join Colts Nation following the news of Owens’ signing with Indianapolis.

Colts fans should expect to see Biles at Lucas Oil Stadium next season, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her and Owens out and about supporting other Indiana sports teams, such as the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever.

The Colts don’t have the most star-studded fan base in the NFL by any means, but Biles will elevate the group, joining the likes of David Letterman, Rob Lowe, and Mike Epps this season.
