Former Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl Champion head coach Tony Dungy is known to be an incredible speaker and motivator.

It seems earlier this year, he used this talent to do a current NFL head coach a favor. That coach is the current New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel.

Dungy recently spoke with Anthony Calhoun of WISH-TV Channel 8 and confirmed speaking with the Patriots earlier this year. The same team that was a thorn in Tony Dungy and the Colts’ side for the majority of the franchise’s best years.

By request of Mike Vrabel, Tony Dungy spoke to the Patriots team earlier this season

The Patriots in year one under Mike Vrabel had an incredible regular season that ended with them being the two seed in the AFC with a 14-3 record. Vrabel led one of the best one-year turnarounds in recent memory.

It seems Dungy could have played a factor as well. Vrabel asked Dungy personally to speak with his team earlier this year. And even with the long-time rivalry in mind, Dungy said yes and spoke to Vrabel’s Patriots team.

They are now set to play the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. Maybe Shane Steichen and the Colts should make a call to Dungy and see if he can work the magic for Indy ahead of next season. Especially with the stakes at an all-time high, the team needs a playoff birth to prevent major changes across the organization.
