Colts star player thinks the team did the Dolphins a favor that prevented their blowout Week 1 win from being even worse
The Dolphins had no answer for Colts rookie Tyler Warren
The Indianapolis Colts kicked off the 2025 season with a good ole blowout by beating the Miami Dolphins 33-8. Multiple new faces played big roles in the win, including QB Daniel Jones, who led the offense to a historic performance. Another player who had a big day was rookie Tyler Warren.
Warren was a big part of the team’s game plan, starting on their opening drive, when he caught three passes. And his usage continued to be a focal point for the Colts’ offense throughout the day, even when the ball wasn’t thrown his way. According to Colts star WR Michael Pittman Jr., he thinks the team could have made things even worse for the Dolphins by force-feeding Warren.
Michael Pittman Jr. thinks Tyler Warren could have had a monster game vs. the Dolphins if the team had forced him the ball more

Warren finished the day catching seven of his nine targets for 76 yards. A great showing in his first-ever NFL regular-season game. He had the most targets and receptions of any player on the Colts offense, which, like Pittman Jr., shared the choice to spread the ball around. Seven players finished with a reception in this game.
After the first drive of the game, Warren had three receptions and 43 yards. Which means he only had four catches for 33 yards the rest of the game. So Pittman Jr. is without a doubt correct, the Colts could have force-fed Warren the ball more. If they did, who knows how incredible his stat line would have looked. The Dolphins had no answer for stopping Warren in the pass game, and the Colts even picked up a first down by giving the TE a rushing attempt in a short-yardage situation.
Week 1 was just the beginning for Warren, who has a bright future ahead of him in the NFL. The next milestones on the horizon are his first NFL touchdown and his first 100-yard game. I’d say both will happen sooner rather than later, with the Colts willing to put so much on the rookie’s plate. If Warren can be a consistent difference maker throughout this year, he might find himself as an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
