It's been a shockingly active start to free agency for the Indianapolis Colts. The team has already added six outside free agents through the first week of free agency.
This is a significant change to the team's plan from a year ago, when they only added two outside free agents to their roster overall, none of whom were expected starters. The team still has multiple glaring roster needs and is likely to add a few more free agents before training camp arrives.
After taking a look at the remaining free agency class, five under-the-radar players stand out as options the Colts should consider signing ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
5 under the radar free agents still available that the Colts should sign

Isaiah Simmons, LB, New York Giants
The Colts need to add a couple of linebackers, with 2025 start EJ Speed still a free agent and rotational LB/special teams ace Grant Stuard already signing elsewhere this offseason. A low-risk, high-reward option at the positions the Colts could consider is former first-round pick Isaiah Simmons. He spent the last two seasons with the New York Giants after playing his first three seasons for the team that drafted him, the Arizona Cardinals. He certainly hasn't lived up to his 8th overall draft selection, but he possesses elite athleticism and a unique skill set that I could see Lou Anarumo finding very intriguing. Coming out, he was labeled as a safety/LB hybrid but has never been used as such. I think Anarumo's scheme would finally give him the chance to use his entire skill set. And at just 26 years old, I think he is well worth taking a flier on this offseason.

Clelin Ferrell, Edge, Washington Commanders
The Colts lost Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency due to his market exceeding where they felt comfortable paying due to other needs on their roster. They are now likely to add at least one vet edge to the room to compete to fill Dayo's role and take on some of his snap share. If the team wants a cheaper option, Clelin Ferrell could be a perfect fit. Ferrell was drafted 4th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft due to his next level of athleticism, and many believe his ceiling as a player was incredibly high. He hasn't been able to come close to those projections, though, but he is a solid rotational player who can line up off the edge or inside on the defensive line.

Rondale Moore, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Anytime a player has connections to the state of Indiana, it's easy to mention them as an option for the Colts to pursue. Rondale Moore just so happens to have multiple connections to the state. He is from New Albany, Indiana, and went to Purdue for college. He was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Though his small frame may not be something the Colts typically covet, his speed and ability as a returner sure are. He would offer solid competition for second-year WR Anthony Gould to be the team's backup slot WR and top return man for 2025, and they wouldn't have to break the bank to do so.

Dillon Radunz, T/G, Tennessee Titans
The Colts lost two 2024 starting offensive linemen during free agency, with Will Fries and Ryan Kelly both signing with the Minnesota Vikings. As a result, soon to be second-year lineman Matt Goncalves is now in consideration to move from tackle to guard to replace Fries. So, the Colts would be wise to add another player. who has the ability to play both spots that can compete with Goncalves and, if they lose the battle, can take over as the backup behind both him and Braden Smith. One of the best options I see on the market that fits that mold is Dillon Radunz, who started 15 games for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.

Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Los Angeles Rams
The Colts already made significant moves to upgrade their secondary this offseason by signing safety Cam Bynum and corner Charvarius Ward. But I think they need more players who have the ability to play outside and can compete for the other starting CB spot opposite of Ward. The best option via his expected price tag that I think the Colts should target is Ahkello Witherspoon. He will turn 30 ahead of the 2025 season but started 17 games for the Los Angeles Rams in 2023 and another five in 2024. And looked solid during the playoffs. For some reason, he is still considered a near-vet minimum type of player, though his production on the field certainly surpasses that price range.
The Colts signed a former third-round pick who is coming off an incredible showing in the 2024 NFL playoffs
Late last night, while most fans were sound asleep, the Indianapolis Colts made another free-agency move. The team reached an agreement with defensive tackle Neville Gallimore. Colts signed 2020 3rd-round pick DT Neville Gallimore The Dallas Cowboys drafted Gallimore out of Oklahoma in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first […]
Colts players were rewarded with significant paydays from the NFL thanks to their play during the 2024 season
2024 didn't go to plan for the Indianapolis Colts, as they once again finished outside of the playoffs. However, two players did enough on the field to receive a significant payday as a reward from the NFL. Jaylon Jones and Nick Cross receive performance-based pay from 2024 The NFL released the 25 players who received the […]
