Colts injury report gives them a clear edge over the Dolphins
The Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins have both completed their practice week ahead of their Week 1 matchup. This game is one of the most even matchups on the NFL’s Week 1 slate, with both teams having clear strengths and weaknesses on paper ahead of kickoff.
One of the last things the team had to do before the matchup was release their final injury report, and Colts head coach Shane Steichen got to utter words every coach dreams of. No one from the Colts is being ruled out of this game, and only one player finds himself questionable.
Colts final injury report ahead of Week 1 matchup vs. Dolphins
- Tyler Goodson, RB: Questionable
- DeForest Buckner, DT: Rest
The Colts ruled RB Tyler Goodson questionable for Sunday as he continues to work his way back from an elbow injury he suffered in the preseason. The fact that he was able to practice every day, though, is a strong sign that he should be ready sooner rather than later, even if it isn’t in Week 1. He was a limited participant on Friday, just as he was on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday’s report did have a new name added, though. Colts star DT Deforest Buckner was given a rest day, which has been a regular part of the weekly plan over the years. As the year progresses, we will likely see more veterans also receive rest days as the team strives to keep key veterans healthy for game day.
The Dolphins’ injury report, on the other hand, remained long, and they ruled three players out. They will be without CB Ethan Bonner, RB Jaylen Wright, and most notably starting TE Darren Waller, who the team acquired this offseason. They are also ruling starting guard James Daniels as questionable. On the bright side, the Dolphins were able to see stars Tyreek Hill and De’Von Achane, as well as starting tackle Austin Jackson, be full participants. As a result, they have no injury designation heading into the game and are ready to roll.
