The Indianapolis Colts are coming off their fifth loss of the season after their worst offensive performance of the year against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.
They now have a tough decision ahead of Tuesday's NFL Trade Deadline. They could take their usual approach of doing nothing or choose to be active at the deadline for a change by being buyers or sellers.
If they decide they need to look to the future and be sellers, there are a few prime candidates on their roster they should consider trading away.
3 Colts players they should consider moving before the NFL Trade Deadline

Ryan Kelly, C
If there's a contender who desperately needs an upgrade at center, it would make a ton of sense for the Colts to offer Ryan Kelly. Kelly has had an up-and-down 2024 season and is in the final year of his current contract. The team drafted Tanor Bortolini in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he has already shined when he's had to fill in for Kelly due to injuries this season. The writing seems on the wall for the Colts to move on from Kelly this offseason and move forward with Bortolini as their starting center. So if they choose to be sellers, speeding up that timeline and getting a draft pick for Kelly would feel like a win for the Colts.
E.J. Speed, LB
Like Kelly, E.J. Speed has had an up-and-down 2024 season and will be a free agent after the year. I think Speed has a better chance than Kelly to land a new contract with the Colts. The first reason I believe this is because his contract would likely be cheaper than what Kelly would be expecting. And secondary, there isn't a clear option to replace him currently on the roster. But if they aren't sure about his future fit, I'm sure multiple teams would be interested in a player like Speed, who has shown the ability to rack up tackles for the Colts.
Dayo Odeyingbo, Edge
This last one will get a negative reaction, and trust me, I wouldn't say I like having to write this. But Odeyingbo is also set to become a free agent this offseason. He's starting to his stride as a player over the last month of the season. And it seems like the price tag to keep him in Indianapolis is going up each week. The team picked up Kwity Paye's fifth-year option during the offseason, and they drafted Laiatu Latu in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. To keep Odeyingbo around, they'd likely have to release veteran Samson Ebukam in the offseason, and it would certainly make a Paye extension look less likely in the future. With multiple teams reportedly looking for upgrades on the defensive line ahead of the trade deadline, the Colts could move Odeyingbo for a decent draft pick, if they are worried about losing him for nothing in free agency. This isn't a move I want to see the Colts make, but if they did, I would at least understand the reasoning behind it.
The Colts have to make a tough roster decision following their Week 9 loss to the Vikings ahead of NFL Trade Deadline
The Indianapolis Colts made the controversial decision to bench Anthony Richardson ahead of their Week 9 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. They believed that veteran Joe Flacco gave the team the best chance to win games. That idea blew up in their face as they had their worst offensive performance of the season and fell […]
The NFL honors the man behind the mask of the Colts mascot Blue as a nominee for an award truly bigger than football
The NFL announced the nominee from each NFL team for the 2024 Salute to Service award presented by USAA. But the nominee for the Colts wasn't a player or even a coach. Instead, it was the man behind the infamous mask of Blue, the team's mascot. The Colts 2024 nominee for the Salute to Service award […]
