Indianapolis Colts guard Will Fries (75) talks with teammates Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Colts fans have complained about the poor play from their team's offensive line over the past couple of seasons.

But the group's play in Week 2 should have satisfied even the harshest critics.

According to PFF, two of the team's starters, RG Will Fries and C Ryan Kelly, received the highest grades for their positions. Fries has been painted as the team's weakest link throughout training camp. But Fries' dominant performance in Week 2 should quiet some of that crowd going forward. Week 2 was the best Fries has looked at the pro level during his three-year career. If he can play close to this level in the future, it would be a massive win for the Colts.

Kelly has struggled over the past couple of seasons, so seeing this level of performance from him in Week 2 was great. Unfortunately, his status for Week 3 is in question as he remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and did not practice today with the team.

If Kelly can't go, Wesley French will step in as the team's starting center. French came In for Kelly after he sustained his concussion in Week 2 and put up a solid performance. An obvious downgrade from Kelly's stellar performance, but didn't allow himself to become a problem, which is what you want to see out of your depth linemen.
