Chiefs are closer to being a Super Bowl contender again than many may realize, and the proof is right in front of everyone
The Chiefs will be back soon, and the playoffs are proof.
As the Kansas City Chiefs start their offseason earlier than they usually do, it’s clear that they’re not as far away from continuing the dynasty as everyone in the national and even local media would have you believe. The proof that they can still be ready to compete in the postseason, and maybe even the Super Bowl, is right in front of everyone.
The 2025 NFL Playoffs are proving the Chiefs will be okay
There’s no disputing that this team has a ton of needs that need to be addressed before the start of the 2026 season. Doing our last five-round NFL Mock Draft showed that, easily. However, they have free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft to address some of those manageable needs.
It will be impossible to fix everything, but that’s okay, and these 2025 NFL Playoffs are showing that’s okay. This season, there is no one elite team that can win the Super Bowl. There is no one team that stands out above the rest as the biggest or ultimate threat. There is more parity than ever before, and that’s because the Chiefs aren’t in the postseason. The Buffalo Bills are the biggest threat to win it all, but even they have some serious flaws.
So, the Chiefs can go into next year, if Mahomes is healthy, and be a team with a few flaws that can still compete to win it all. That just shows you where the league is at right now. Of course, none of this really matters at all, but if you put even last year’s Chiefs team in this pool of teams, they probably win it all.
Kansas City will be fine as long as they make the necessary changes. There are a lot of things that need to happen, too. To make it all even more interesting, this is the first time in this era that the Chiefs have been through something like this. Let’s see how they respond.
