29 former Kansas City Chiefs players to get a new chance at pro football in the UFL, including draft picks and fan favorites
Spring football is back with the UFL’s third season and several former Kansas City Chiefs players are getting another shot to play pro football.
It’s the time of the year for spring football, and the UFL is officially back for a third season.
The league features 8 teams divided into 2 conferences. Those teams will face off in a 10-week-long, 40-game regular season with no bye weeks. Conference winners will host postseason semifinals against two wild-card teams to determine who will play in the UFL Championship Game in June.
The 2026 UFL season features two notable rules changes, including a 4-point field goal for kicks from 60+ yards and adjusting the “dynamic kickoff” (kicker at the 30-yard line, team at the 45-yard line). Given that the NFL adopted the UFL’s dynamic kickoff rule, that’s one thing fans will want to watch for.
Several former Kansas City Chiefs players have found homes on teams across the UFL. That group includes former draft picks, players the team acquired in trade, and even a perennial training camp star. The only UFL team this season without any former Chiefs players is the Louisville Kings, one of the brand-new clubs for the 2026 UFL season. The other two new clubs are the Columbus Aviators and the Orlando Storm.

S Glendon Miller: Signed with the Chiefs in April of 2025 and was waived the following August.
TE Geor’Quarius Spivey: The former TCU Horned Frog and Mississippi State Bulldog has made the Chiefs’ 90-man roster twice as a tryout player. The 6-foot-5 and 240-pound tight end appeared in the preseason with Kansas City, catching one pass for seven yards. He caught seven passes on 13 targets for 65 yards with the UFL’s Houston Roughnecks last spring.
DC Defenders
CB DeAndre Baker: Baker is perhaps the most notable player on this list as a former first-round draft pick by the Giants. He spent a portion of the 2020 and 2021 seasons in Kansas City, appearing in three games in 2020 as a practice squad elevation for the Chiefs. A poorly-timed and severe broken leg cost him his opportunity to stick in Kansas City.
CB Ekow Boye-Doe: A former undrafted free agent out of Kansas State, Boye-Doe became a Super Bowl LVIII champion with the team. He appeared in six games with the Chiefs in 2023, but did not record any stats.
CB Azizi Hearn: Signed with the Chiefs in August of 2025 and only lasted with the club for about a month.
LB Curtis Jacobs: Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State following the 2024 NFL Draft, Jacobs was also drafted by the DC Defenders in the UFL rookie draft. He was waived by the Chiefs during 53-man roster cuts in 2024 and later caught on with the Pats.
WR Cornell Powell: A former fifth-round draft pick in 2021 out of Clemson, Powell played in Kansas City for just three seasons. He became a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning in 2022 and 2023. He spent a brief stint on the Chiefs’ practice squad during the 2024 NFL season before signing briefly with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad to end the year. He was one of the UFL’s regular-season receiving leaders in his first season with the Defenders in 2025.
WR Ty Scott: An undrafted free agent out of Missouri State in the 2023 NFL Draft, Scott signed with Kansas City and was with the team for two separate portions of the 2023 NFL offseason before he was released during 53-man roster cuts.
QB Jordan Ta’Amu: A former undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss, Ta’Amu spent a portion of the 2020 NFL season with the Chiefs’ practice squad. He spent the entire 2021 NFL offseason on the 90-man roster in Kansas City. Ta’amu has been a starter for the Defenders for three seasons now. He helped the DC to a 58-34 victory over the Michigan Panthers in the 2025 UFL Championship Game and was named MVP.
Dallas Renegades
OL Tremayne Anchrum Jr.: A former seventh-round pick by the Rams in 2020. Briefly spent some time with the Chiefs during the 2025 NFL offseason.
DE Taco Charlton: Charlton was a fan favorite when he played meaningful snaps for the Chiefs back during the 2020 NFL season, when he appeared in seven regular-season games. He recorded two sacks and a forced fumble in that span.
TE Baylor Cupp: An undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech in the 2024 NFL Draft, Cupp spent a portion of the 2024 NFL season on the team’s practice squad as a reserve tight end before suffering an injury. He signed a reserve/future deal with the team, but was released shortly after the 2025 NFL Draft.
DT Siaki Ika: A third-round draft pick out of Baylor by the Browns in 2023, Ika was signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad in December of 2024. Signed a reserve/future contract the following season, but he was waived during OTAs.
Columbus Aviators
WR Rashard Davis: Signed with the Chiefs following the 2019 NFL Draft. Went undrafted out of James Madison in 2017. Released by the team during 53-man roster cuts. Drafted with the first overall pick in the skill players round in the XFL Draft in October of 2019 by the DC Defenders.
OL Chris Glaser: Signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia following the 2022 NFL Draft as a rookie minicamp tryout. Spent the offseason with the team before being released in early August.
TE Alize Mack: Signed with the Chiefs’ practice squad in November of 2019. Was signed to a reserve/future deal in January of 2020, but was waived shortly after the 2020 NFL Draft.
CB DJ Miller Jr.: Signed with K.C. as a UDFA out of Kent State prior to the 2024 season. Didn’t make it through 53-man roster cuts.
Birmingham Stallions
LB Ola Fatukasi: Signed with the Chiefs briefly in August of 2023 before suffering an injury that landed him on injured reserve. He reached an injury settlement with the team ahead of the 2023 NFL season.
WR John Ross: Once a former top-10 draft pick who held the NFL’s 40-yard dash record, Ross joined the Chiefs on a reserve/future contract in January of 2023 before retiring in July. He attempted an NFL comeback afterward, and the Chiefs granted him his release. He spent some time with the Philadelphia Eagles before landing in the UFL.
WR Justyn Ross: A training camp standout since signing with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in 2022, Ross never regained form after a productive college career with the Tigers. Injuries and off-field troubles set him back, but he also had issues learning the playbook and making an impact when it counted.
