The 2021 season ended less than a week ago, but it's never too early to start looking ahead to the 2022 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs will once again be viewed as one of the favorites in the AFC. Despite their rough ending to the 2021 season — the AFC Championship game loss to the Cincinnati Bengals — the Chiefs still have one of the best rosters in the NFL.

They also have a couple of the most exciting players in the NFL — Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill are all legitimate superstars.

That's why we should see the Chiefs playing in plenty of primetime games. The biggest primetime game of the week, of course, is Sunday Night Football. And I think there are several Chiefs games we could see in that timeslot in 2022 (likely more than once).

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals

I think this matchup has to be at the top of the list. A rematch of the AFC Championship game. Two of the game's best young quarterbacks going at it. I expect we're going to see a lot of Patrick Mahomes vs Joe Burrow in the coming years. This could be the new version of Peyton Manning vs Tom Brady.

The Chiefs will be looking to exact some revenge in 2022 on the Bengals. It would certainly be sweet for KC to beat Cincinnati on the road.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills

This is similar to the Chiefs/Bengals matchup. Bills quarterback Josh Allen is in that group of elite young quarterbacks who are carrying the torch from Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, etc. We're going to see Mahomes and Allen going at it for years to come, too.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Rams

The most exciting team in the AFC against the Super Bowl champions. That makes for a great prime-time matchup. You know Arrowhead will be rocking as the Chiefs look to prove they're better than the team that most recently hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers

Primetime in Los Angeles. Chiefs vs Justin Herbert (another elite young quarterback) and the Chargers. You know the NFL would love to feature this game in a primetime slot. If it doesn't end up on Sunday night football, then I wouldn't be surprised if it's played on Monday night or even Thursday night (I hate Thursday night games, but this would be a fun one).

Kansas City Chiefs vs Tennessee Titans

The Chiefs and the Titans have had some great battles in recent years.

Tennessee got the best of the Chiefs in 2021, winning 27-3 in Nashville.

In early 2020, however, the Chiefs beat the Titans in the AFC Championship game to advance to the Super Bowl (which KC would go on to win).

The Titans were the No. 1 seed in the AFC this past season, but they lost in their first playoff game (against the Bengals). Kansas City will be looking to prove that they should've been the No. 1 seed in 2021 instead of the Titans.
