Travis Kelce is set to appear in Adam Sandler's 'Happy Gilmore 2,' and everyone is patiently waiting to see it.
During the "Saturday Night Live" 50th anniversary celebration on Sunday night, Sandler spoke with reporters and was asked to rate Kelce's performance in the new movie.
"A 12," he exclaimed
"Funny as hell, funny as hell! No kidding, unbelievable," Sandler added.
In December, the first trailer for "Happy Gilmore 2" dropped, and Kelce made an appearance.
The two talked about Kelce's role during an August episode of the New Heights podcast where Sandler actually revealed that he had a different idea for the Chiefs tight end.
“We were talking about you playing my son while we were writing it, literally, like six months ago," Sandler said. "We were like, imagine if Travis was my first baby, how funny that would be. Just a badass.”
That would have been absolutely legendary.
But since they filmed this all during the football season, that time commitment was not going to work out. They found another option, and Sandler gave a little sneak preview of what Kelce will be doing.
“Travis, we’re gonna have fun, because the scene you’re doing is with so many great golfers,” Sandler added. “It’s gonna be amazing. You’re gonna be funny as hell.
“The movie itself, it just picks up from an older guy who’s played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life. He’s different. Things are, he’s a bit of a mess when you meet Happy and then we kind of try to get his his life cooking again.”
Hearing this compliment from Sandler must mean that this movie is going to be one you won't want to miss.
