The Kansas City Chiefs managed to get perfect results in Week 10 without lifting a finger.

The Chiefs' bye week saw some key competitors in the AFC drop games over the weekend with the Bengals, Jaguars, Ravens, and Bills all losing their games. After the results of the week, the team remains the No. 1 seed as they're the only remaining 2-loss team in the AFC. So long as they continue winning, no one will have a chance to catch them.

If the season ended today, the AFC Championship Game would still be known as the Arrowhead Invitational. Here's a look at how things currently stack up in the AFC Conference:

If the playoffs began today. . .

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-2)
  2. Baltimore Ravens (7-3)
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3)
  4. Miami Dolphins (6-3)
  5. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3)
  6. Cleveland Browns (6-3)
  7. Houston Texans (5-4)

In the hunt. . .

  1. Cincinnati Bengals (5-4)
  2. Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
  3. Buffalo Bills (5-5)
  4. Las Vegas Raiders (5-5)

Likely to be eliminated. . .

  1. Los Angeles Chargers (4-5)
  2. New York Jets (4-5)
  3. Denver Broncos (4-5)
  4. Tennessee Titans (3-6)
  5. New England Patriots (2-8)

Super Bowl LVII rematch could dictate the path to Super Bowl LVIII

The AFC conference is highly competitive this year, as you can probably gather from the above information. The Chiefs don't currently have a lot of room for error, and a loss in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles could make the path to the next Super Bowl that much harder.

As of the results of Week 10, the Chiefs have a 99% chance to make the playoffs and a 95% chance to win the AFC West. That's pretty great, and those chances wouldn't change much with a loss to Philly in Week 11. Right now, they have a 62% chance to get a first-round bye week as the AFC's No. 1 seed. If Kansas City lost to the Eagles in Week 11, those chances would drop by 14%.

Chiefs' upcoming schedule:

  • Nov. 20 vs. Philadelphia Eagles on "Monday Night Football"
  • Nov. 26 at Las Vegas Raiders
  • Dec. 3 at Green Bay Packers on "Sunday Night Football"
