The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
It'll be the second straight season that the Chiefs and the Bengals have played in the AFC Championship game in Kansas City.
Cincinnati beat the Buffalo Bills on Sunday to set up the rematch.
And the Bengals immediately started talking trash after the win.
Cincinnati's official Twitter account tweeted a video of Bengals defensive back Cam Taylor-Britt saying "they gotta play us".
The Bengals' mantra for the last couple of weeks has been that they should be viewed as the favorites to reach the Super Bowl because they won the AFC last season.
What they don't realize, though, is that last year has nothing to do with this season. The slate was wiped clean once the 2022 season kicked off (just ask the Los Angeles Rams, who finished with a losing record after winning the Super Bowl last season).
I imagine we'll hear plenty more comments like the one above over the next week and I'm all for it — the more trash talk the better.
There's no doubt that Cincinnati vs Kansas City will be one of the most hyped games of the season.
But the Chiefs, despite what the Bengals say, are the team to beat by virtue of being the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
