With the Kansas City's 17-10 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Chiefs GM Brett Veach secured the 200th win of his career as an NFL executive. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes gave Veach the game ball afterwards, as captured by the Chiefs' social media team.

After playing college football for Delaware, Veach began his NFL career as a coaching intern for Andy Reid with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004. Veach would later transition to a scout and followed Reid to Kansas City in 2013. In 2015 Veach was promoted to Co-Director of player personnel, and is credited as being a huge part of the Chiefs selecting Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Following the draft Veach was promoted once again, this time to GM. The rest is history for Veach and the Chiefs as K.C. has won the most games in the league since 2017, along with three Super Bowl championships. While speaking to reporters on Monday, Reid acknowledged the value that Veach has brought to the organization.

"He's done a phenomenal job with the personnel," Reid said. "We appreciate the energy he brings every day. The players see the depth and competition on the team. . . It's a tough position to balance, but he's very real with people and how he goes about his business."

Veach may be finding himself in his most challenging season as the Chiefs' GM yet. The team's top two wide receivers, Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice, have both suffered significant injuries are likely out for the season. In addition to that, starting running back Isiah Pacheco is out until at least mid-November with a fibula injury.

Veach has already addressed the running back situation by bringing back Kareem Hunt, who had an excellent debut for K.C. against the Chargers. It may take some time to sort out the wide receiver situation, but it's certainly at the top of Veach's to-do list. There are plenty of in-house options on the practice squad, and some receivers could be available for trade around the league.
