CBS Sports recently named a free agent that each NFL team should target this offseason and they have a former Pro-Bowl wide receiver in mind for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The national sports media outlet thinks the Chiefs should try to sign Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster this offseason.

From CBS Sports:

The Chiefs could see their wide receiving corps revamped this offseason. Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson are free agents, and the Chiefs are seemingly still searching for that No. 2 wideout for Tyreek Hill. JuJu Smith-Schuster proved to be an incredibly effective No. 2 receiver during his time alongside Antonio Brown, and that may be the role that fits him best. The Chiefs reportedly showed interest in him last year, and should do so again this offseason.

Smith-Schuster missed most of the last season with a shoulder injury, though he managed to return for the Steelers' playoff loss to the Chiefs, catching five passes for 26 yards.

Signing Smith-Schuster would give Kansas City possibly the best group of pass-catchers in the NFL, along with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Mecole Hardman, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

But is this really the free agent they should prioritize this offseason? Adding Smith-Schuster, who just turned 25 but has only topped 1,000 receiving yards once in his career, would certainly make the offense better. Defense, however, could probably use some upgrades first — specifically when it comes to adding a pass rusher.

Though if the Chiefs can get JuJu at one year for $8 million like Pro Football Reference is projecting, then this could be a signing that makes a lot of sense. It all depends on how the market shapes up for the former USC standout.
