The Kansas City Chiefs made a move a few days before their Monday Night Football matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, and it somewhat went under the radar.
Richie James was placed on injured reserve after being injured on special teams in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Finally, however, he is back, as several reports indicate he was activated.
James signed as a free agent this offseason as the Chiefs wanted to bolster their wide receiver depth in a year where the position was in question. While he is back, he hasn't brought much to the offense, as the Chiefs have already found who they like at wide receiver. That doesn't mean he can't now, though.
Instead, James brings special teams play to the team when they struggle a bit in that area, with Mecole Hardman not making the best decisions. Now, who will take over those responsibilities?
