The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is being disrespected once again by one of his biggest rivals, but they didn't do it on purpose this time.

In the last five years, we have seen Patrick Mahomes as a top-five quarterback. Every year he's been in that category, even his first MVP he was. Now, after this last year, he is undoubtedly the best in the league. When I say the best in the league, I don't just mean the best quarterback in the league. He is the best player in the league.

That is not the only reason, but a huge reason the Chiefs were able to win the Super Bowl last season with the highest-scoring offense in the league and a bunch of wide receivers who weren't on the team the year before.

The Chiefs' biggest rival right now is no doubt the Cincinnati Bengals, who have been known to trash-talk the last few years. When they went 3-0 against the Chiefs in 2021, they talked their stuff, but they were allowed to because they beat the Chiefs three straight times.

Now, there is a little disrespect coming Mahomes' way from the Bengals, but it wasn't on purpose this time. If you keep up with football and the league as a whole, you probably know that Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow is due a contract extension, and he is going to get paid big time.

During this process we have heard from several people speak on the situation, including JaMarr Chase, the Bengals' star receiver. Recently he had some shots at Mahomes, but as we said, it wasn't on purpose.

"He knows he's the best quarterback in the league," Chase said. "He doesn't need the money to prove that. He wants to look out for the people around him, and keep the team around him."

Sure, Burrow is very good. In fact, he is the second-best quarterback in the league. But, he isn't the best. That would be Patrick Mahomes. I know Chase is going to say his guy is the best, but that is still a lie.

There are tiers in the NFL when it comes to ranking the best quarterbacks. Mahomes is in a tier of his own. He is the best in the league and there is a pretty large gap too. Burrow is in that second tier with guys like Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Herbert. Mahomes has a few things Burrow doesn't – two MVPs and Two Super Bowl rings.

I appreciate the confidence, but let's not start lying to the people.
