The Kansas City Chiefs have a huge need at receiver, and this upcoming draft isn't the best when it comes to the position. It isn't a bad one, but it certainly isn't a good class.
The Chiefs need a guy to be there in case the Chiefs have injury problems in the room and a guy that could play even when they don't have injuries. They need depth, and they need a guy who can play with the starters.
The room is currently Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kadarius Toney, and Justin Watson. It is fair to say they need to add at least one more guy. One ESPN analyst has the Chiefs adding one of the most underrated receivers in the entire draft, and they have the Chiefs doing it in the third round, getting great value.
Mel Kiper's pick: Marvin Mims, WR, Oklahoma
I just love the idea of Mims in Kansas City. He can catch deep passes from Patrick Mahomes, and he is a stellar improviser on broken plays. If he cuts down on concentration drops, he'll outplay his draft position.

Mims will be available on day two for sure. There is a chance he won't be available for pick 68 when the Chiefs pick again. If he is, I'm willing to bet they grab him, especially considering they may not take one with their first pick.
Here is what Pro Football Focus thinks about Mims:
Mims is on the smaller side for the position but is the type of athlete who can make up for it. He went for more than 1,000 yards last season and averaged 19.5 yards per catch for his career.

Mims is a guy the Chiefs would value a lot, because of his route running combined with his speed. I think most Chiefs fans would enjoy this draft pick too.
