You're used to seeing the presence of the Kansas City Chiefs in the media by now, whether it's countless commercials, music or Saturday Night Live.

Now get ready to see them in a full-length movie. The Chiefs are teaming up with the Hallmark Channel to film a Christmas and football themed film titled "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story." The entire movie will be shot in Kansas City, Missouri and will feature plenty of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Hallmark's headquarters are based in Kansas City, so a collaboration between them and the Chiefs has been long overdue. The Hallmark Channel is well known for their original Christmas movies. The lead stars of the film will be Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr.

Here's what Chiefs President Mark Donovan had to say about the project.

“We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Donovan said. “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences. This partnership unites two passionate fanbases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most-watched channels during the holiday season.”

Hallmark also released a synopsis for the film.

"Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Derrick (Hynes), Director of Fan Engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them but when her grandfathers (Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick – unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary."

Movie production begins in July. The release date is not yet known but will be sometime during the 2024 Holiday Season. Also unknown is whether or not there will be any cameos from Chiefs players, coaches or executives, but there's certainly potential for that happening. Kansas City’s downtown skyline will be lit purple and red tonight to celebrate the partnership between the two organizations.
