The Kansas City Chiefs need to nail this draft if they want to continue building on last year, and create that dynasty that everyone has been talking about.

They got the draft last year perfect, so much so, that they had guys drafted on day three that made starts for them and also had some key plays all throughout the postseason on both sides of the ball.

The Chiefs are going to try and run it back, but actually do it this time. The last time they tried to do that, it ended up coming to an end in the Super Bowl, but not in their favor.

So, this draft is key, and they are taking input from everyone on what should be done, and what the team needs. Patrick Mahomes has an input too.

"Pat's [Patrick Mahomes] been on it right from the get-go," Andy Reid said when asked about Mahomes' involvement with the draft. "So he's been all over it and with the guys, with the coaches, he checks in all the time. Hey, how are we doing, you know, how are we doing with the draft? You know, he's interested in that, which is unique. So he, you know he's either talking to myself or Brett [Veach] all the time."

We saw this when Clyde Edwards-Helaire was drafted when Mahomes told the Chiefs staff that they had to have him in Kansas City running and catching the ball, and the team went out and got him.

The Chiefs will likely do the same in this draft when they think about drafting an offensive player. They need a receiver and will probably take one on Thursday or Friday. I can bet you Mahomes will be asked what he thinks, and probably the same when they draft a right tackle.

The Chiefs know what their guy wants, and they usually do what they have to to make him happy while also helping the team in the best way possible.
