Kansas City Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown was officially back at practice on Friday, Dec. 13.

The team officially designated him to return to practice after he received final clearance from his surgeon this week. It marked his first time participating in a practice session with the Chiefs since the first week of August.

Brown's return to action for Kansas City prompted many questions. How did he look in practice? Was he in shape? Will he play in Week 15 vs. the Browns? Chiefs head coach Andy Reid sought to answer several questions for reporters on Friday.

"Yeah, he practiced today," Reid said. "Did a nice job. He won't play this week, for sure, but it's nice having him back out there and going. He got a lot of good work in today. You can tell he's been, he's been working, and the conditioning part wasn't a problem. So, like I said, he took quite a few reps."

While Brown won't suit up in Week 15, it sure sounds as if he's not far off from making his Chiefs regular-season debut. Being that he was dealing with a sternoclavicular joint injury (upper body), it's no surprise that he was able to keep up with his conditioning.

The fact that he was seemingly able to complete a lot of repetitions without limitations shows that he's been staying ready, not just physically but also mentally. Brown was able to attend team meetings and take the mental repetitions while he was rehabbing and recovering from the injury.

"Yeah, he stays in tune with it," Reid said. "And very conscientious that way."

It remains to be seen when exactly Brown will rejoin his teammates and play in a game. They'll be cautious with him because they don't want to jeopardize the lift he can bring to the offense, which is another reliable receiver who can beat man coverage regularly. Whenever he does get back out there, Reid's comments suggest that he should be able to hit the ground running.
