The Kansas City Chiefs could soon be getting some reinforcements they desperately need.

On Monday, Chiefs HC Andy Reid spoke on the team's injury situation after their Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos. Typically, if there were a serious or notable injury, the team would know about it by now. As things currently stand, they avoided that type of situation in a hard-fought win.

"I really don't have any injuries for you," Reid told reporters. "I think we came out of the game halfway decent. But I'll get with the guys. They are just kind of coming in (now), so we'll get all that taken care of here later in the afternoon."

Not only did the team escape relatively unscathed from an injury standpoint in Week 10, but they're also getting that much closer to several players returning to action.

Chiefs "very close" to returns of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu

Injuries have been a major part of the Chiefs' season in 2024. While the team has persevered, they've been without several key players due to injury. The fanbase has anxiously been awaiting the return of several of those players.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid gave a very promising update on a trio of injured players when asked about WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, RB Isiah Pacheco, and DE Charles Omenihu.

"They're all close. JuJu (Smith-Schuster) is closer than the other two," Reid said. "I'd tell you, we might have them out there (at practice). They're all very close, all three of them."

Smith-Schuster has missed the last several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 7 against the 49ers. He wasn't placed on injured reserve, which suggested he should be able to return for the Week 11 game against the Buffalo Bills. Based on Reid's comments, expect Smith-Schuster to be back at practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday.

One player who could soon be returning from injured reserve is star RB Isiah Pacheco. He was given a 6-8 week timeline after he suffered a fractured fibula at his ankle joint in Week 2. The team could realistically open his 21-day practice window as early as this week, but he might need some more time before returning to the field for a game.

On the defensive side of the ball, Charles Omenihu could soon make his return from the Reserve/PUP list. He's been teasing his return for several weeks now and previously suggested a Week 12 target return date. Omenihu, of course, hasn't played during the 2024 NFL season due to a season-ending ACL injury. Omenihu had seven sacks last season and would be a welcomed addition to the pass rush in Kansas City.

Getting these three players back at practice ahead of a pivotal Week 11 matchup with the Bills would be massive for team spirits. If even one of them can go on Sunday afternoon in Buffalo, it could be the difference between a win or a loss for Kansas City.
