Kansas City Chiefs fans are awaiting an update on WR Rashee Rice after he was ruled out of Week 4's tilt with the Los Angeles Chargers on a knee injury.

CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson sought to try and get that update for the Chiefs Kingdom at halftime. Under the NFL's new rules, coaches are interviewed at halftime. She asked Andy Reid about the severity of Rice's knee injury, who said he couldn't give an update. However, his words told everyone exactly what they needed to know.

"No, but it's not good," he said.

Fans will have to await Reid's postgame press conference for a real prognosis, but this update says it all. Rice went straight to the X-ray room to get imaging done on his injured knee. While Reid likely hasn't heard from Rick Burkholder and his staff on the results of those procedures, he certainly knows what they're looking for and what they're concerned about, which is a serious knee injury. Any torn ligaments likely means he'll miss significant time, if not the entire regular season.

With Rice sidelined for Week 4, the Chiefs have just five active wide receivers on the 53-man roster. That group includes rookie Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, and Skyy Moore. They already have one wide receiver, Hollywood Brown, on injured reserve. Brown isn't expected to return during the 2024 NFL regular season
