Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid is still working out the playing time for his starters in preseason Week 3, but there is a chance that two key players could return from injury to get some snaps against the Cleveland Browns.

Chiefs starting RB Isiah Pacheco said goodbye to the yellow non-contact jersey he wore in practice throughout training camp during practice this week. Chiefs OC Matt Nagy has already said it wouldn't hurt Pacheco to get hit a few times before the season starts, but Reid is undecided on whether he'll play in preseason Week 3.

"There is a chance, yeah," Reid said. "I'm just going to have to spot him here and see what he's comfortable with. We got the yellow jersey off of him and he's full-throttle. But we'll see how he does here for a couple of days."

Another player seems like he's on track to get some action for the first time. DT Tershawn Wharton returned to practice on Tuesday, and Reid is pleased with what he's seen from him so far.

"He's doing alright," Reid said. "He's lucky he has a good foundation. He's got big legs, strong legs. I thought he was moving around well."

Wharton's surgically repaired knee saw swelling when he returned from the active/PUP, so keeping that swelling down in practice will be the key to getting him back on the field for the regular season.

Will he play against Cleveland, though?

"Yeah, there's a chance," Reid said. "Kind of the same thing with (Isiah) Pacheco. We'll just see where we go with this thing in the next couple of days. Tomorrow is not a normal walkthrough day. So we've got one more day there."

How each of Pacheco and Wharton perform during practice on Thursday could be the determining factor in whether they see any in-game action before the preseason comes to a close.
