The Kansas City Chiefs have officially completed their first practice of the playoff bye week.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid confirmed that the team practiced in pads on Friday, marking their first practice since returning from their trip to Denver in Week 18. While the team won't be required to share an injury report with the league until they begin preparations for the divisional round of the playoffs, Reid gave some updates on the key injured players for the KC Chiefs.

When asked about Chris Jones (calf), Jawaan Taylor (knee), Isiah Pacheco (ribs), and the newly injured Chamarri Conner, Reid confirmed that they each practiced in some capacity on Friday. That's an upgrade from the week of preparation for the Broncos, during which each of Jones, Taylor, and Pacheco missed practice.

"Well, listen, they all practiced today," Reid told reporters. "So, that was a good thing that they were all able to get out there and bang it around a little bit. And so, that was a big plus. So, they're all doing well, to answer your question. They're all doing well."

This news confirms what Chiefs Kingdom already knew: The No. 1 seed and first-round bye week were vital to this team's health. Resting certain players in Week 18 allowed the team to not only get healthy but also for injured roster members to get some practice during the bye week. All in all, the team's injured players will be better prepared for the most important juncture of the year, which is single-elimination games in the postseason.

Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson continues progressing in his return from injured reserve

Chiefs HC Andy Reid also provided an update on CB Jaylen Watson, who was designated to return to practice last week after suffering a fracture where his leg met his ankle earlier this season. Reid indicated that Watson continues to make progress in the right direction and hasn't suffered any setbacks.

"He worked last week," Reid explained. "He came out of those workouts and felt good. He worked hard today, and we did a lot of one-on-one stuff today, so ones versus ones. And so he was able to get in there and work that. And he looked he looked good. From what I've seen. I haven't gone back and looked at the tape yet, but he looked like he was moving around pretty good."

It's starting to look realistic, if not trending toward likely, that Watson could be activated to the 53-man roster for the divisional round of the playoffs. All he has to do is continue to show signs of progress and that he's ready to return to the field.
