The Kansas City Chiefs have been the most successful team in terms of winning, in the league since 2018, when Patrick Mahomes took over the reins of the franchise.

They have now won their division six straight times, an AFC West record. They have been to four straight AFC Championship games. Went to two Super Bowls, winning one of them.

Since 2018, no other franchise has been as successful. However, that success has definitely put a target on their back.

Now the Chiefs are favorites in some sort of capacity every single year. Whether it be division favorites, check, or Super Bowl favorites.

Everyone is constructing their team to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. It's that plain and simple, and everyone knows it., even the Chiefs know it.

"I mean, with our success, I think a lot of teams circle us on their schedule, but that's what you want, man," Travis Kelce told the media on Friday when asked about having a target on their back. "If you are not answering the bell every single week then why are we out there?

"I'm trying to be the best on every single play, every single game, so it's not new to me to feel like everyone is ready for my best shot. If I'm on the flip side, I know I'm getting everyone's best shot because of the success we have had. It's just nothing new here, there are a few new faces that are going to get a glimpse at that if they haven't already had that in their career."

The Chiefs are not favorites to win the Super Bowl this year by the national media, but everyone knows they are a threat. They beat the Buffalo Bills last season, in maybe one of the best games of all time, and they are favorites to win it all this season.

And, rightfully so, as they put together a showcase against the defending champions on Thursday Night Football.

This season may be one of the toughest ones they have had in some time. Last year was tough in the beginning, and it showed. This year could be even tougher.

They don't have their star receiver Tyreek Hill anymore, and in fact, have a whole new receiving corps. They are in a division where everyone got better, and the division was already tough.

It won't be easy. But if there is any team in the league that can live up to the expectations, it's this team. On Sunday, we will get a glimpse of that.
