Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes finally says what he really feels after win over Bengals

The Kansas City Chiefs have been looking forward to the day they beat the Bengals for a while now, and it finally happened. What is the saying? Revenge is a dish best-served cold, and the Chiefs took the life out of the Bengals with a kick to win it.
The talking between the two teams this week was insane, especially from the Bengals. It started with the "Burrowhead" comment and moved from that to the Mayor of Cincinnati declaring January 29th "they gotta play us day," which just sounds stupid now.
The whole time Mahomes isn't saying a word. He isn't chirping back, and he isn't on social media. He remains a constant professional in the workplace.
“Yeah, we just go out there and play football at the end of the day," Mahomes said earlier in the week. "All that stuff, you can talk throughout the week, but at the end of the day, it’s a football game. You have to go out there and play it. So we believe in just going (and) showing up on Sunday, playing our best football, and seeing what happens.”
That's what he said when asked about the Burrowhead comment. He was as humble and nice as could be. He could have said something to make a comeback, but he didn't.
Why is that? Well, he knew what was coming. He wanted to wait for the right time, which just so happened to be January 29th, they gotta play us day.
"I said it from the beginning, we were locked in," Mahomes said postgame. "We gotta be together. This team stepped up against a great football team and we showed this place, it's Arrowhead, not Burrowhead."
He sounded like he had been waiting to say that all week. He knew that he would get the chance, and it shows, if you poke the bear, it won't end well.
But then, he went right back to the humble Mahomes we have all learned to love, he just wasn't humble about the Bengals.
"Yeah, no, I mean they're a great football team," Mahomes said when asked about the Eagles. "I've watched them all year long. Great quarterback, great entire team. That is gonna be a great, a great challenge for us. But I'm gonna celebrate this one first. So I'm gonna make sure I get back to my team. I don't think we have any cigars, but we'll be ready to go to the Super Bowl."
This win was one of the more emotional ones Chiefs fans may be able to remember in quite some time. Maybe just a tad less emotional than the 2019 Super Bowl win.
We saw a side of Mahomes that we would love to see more, the guy that lets it all out.
Finally, Mahomes left the field with one last message.
"We are at Arrowhead, and we are the AFC Champions again."
