Patrick Mahomes is one week away from wrapping up his second MVP season, and I don't think many would argue that he deserves that title. There hasn't been anything he hasn't done this season and he lost his number-one receiver in Tyreek Hill.

Let's also add in that the Kansas City Chiefs are in a "re-tooling year" and are 13-3 as we speak. Oh, and did I mention the stats? He is pretty close to doing what he did the first time he won the MVP.

While he likely won't get the 50 touchdown passes, as he is only at 40 which is still the most in the league, he already has 5,000 passing yards, and that puts him with some elite company. Mahomes couldn't be more humble though.

“I mean obviously it’s really cool if you look at the names that are on that list," Mahomes said after the win on Sunday.

"You’re talking about the all-time greats with Drew Brees and Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, so just to be a part of the list that has those names on there it’s a special accomplishment and I’m glad I have the people around me, and the coaches around me to be able to do it.”

I know he is in awe that he is on the same list as some of those guys, but there are a lot of people out there that think Mahomes will eventually surpass those guys when it comes to legacy, me being one of them. Well, maybe not Tom Brady, but we will have to see.

Mahomes is making this look so easy, as he has 400 yards over the next-highest guy who just so happens to be Brady.

This won't be the last time Mahomes does this, and it isn't his first time. This guy is doing it all and has proven his worth of the MVP award, all while being humble at the same time.
