The Kansas City Chiefs may still be having the same defensive problems they have always had, but they still have one of the best players on that side of the ball, in the entire league.

Chris Jones is that dude. He is also now a four-time Pro Bowler.

But there is just one thing. Jones doesn't care about being a Pro Bowler, or an All-Pro, or any of that. There is just one thing Chris Jones cares about, and that's winning Super Bowls.

"Pro Bowl is a nice thing they have, but you know I don’t play for Pro Bowls, man, I don’t. I don’t," Jones said. "I truly respect the honor to be voted by my peers for it.

"I’m truly appreciative of it, but I don’t play for Pro Bowls, man. I play for Super Bowls. So, this (is) cool and everything. Hopefully, we’ll just keep this thing going, man, (and) we’ll get to the big show.”

That statement right there, the "I play for Super Bowls," is exactly what you want to hear the best defensive player on your team say. That's what you want to hear the franchise guy say it.

He has four Pro Bowls now, and one Super Bowl. So, I think it's only fair to say he has some catching up to do.

“You got to keep going," Jones continued. "I give it all to my D‐line group, man, because without the D‐line, man, guys pushing me to be my best every day. Without guys challenging me to be the best me every day then none of this is capable, so D‐line, my coach (Defensive Line Coach Joe Cullen), Coach Spags (Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) – we’re going to continue to push, man."

The Kansas City Chiefs defense, like we have said many times this year, hasn't been what we thought it would be. Through the first few games of the season, we thought it could be elite.

Obviously, we are wrong. They are still a pretty average defense. However, Jones has had a bit of help on the defensive front. Carlos Dunlap, especially the last few weeks, has been great. Frank Clark had the forced fumble last week that ultimately helped win the game.

And of course, there has been the rookie, George Karlaftis who is proving everyone wrong, and looking more and more like a steal every day.

Jones said that none of it would be possible without those guys, but I'd like to flip that around a bit. I think that the success of those guys wouldn't be possible without Jones drawing double teams nearly every snap.

Either way, a man who has his goals and eyes set on things bigger than accolades such as the one he is being recognized for now, is a guy that is set on doing what he says. Everyone in Chiefs Kingdom knows this guy will only bring to life the things he is preaching.
