The Kansas City Chiefs recently signed Brandon Williams, the former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle, to their roster. His first game as a Chiefs was on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

On Thursday defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo was asked how he thought Williams played in his debut game.

“Yeah! I tell you, (I was) really impressed with – it’s kind of like (Rams QB) Baker Mayfield, right (laughter)? I mean Brandon was only here three days or whatever and he did an admirable job. What he still can do as a D-linemen is knock somebody back," Spagnuolo said.

"He really helped us on the goal line. You know we had the two or three goal line snaps. I think they took a penalty and went back and then we were out of goal line defense, but he helped us there. I was real impressed with how he picked it up. True pro, you know, veteran.”

Williams was a big addition to the team. We knew this team needed a big body to not only plug gaps on the line but also take some attention away from Chris Jones and that is exactly what he did on Sunday.

The stat sheet won't show it, but Williams was great, because he came in, played his role, and did it to the best of his abilities. If he can keep it up he will only get more snaps, and the Chiefs will trust him in their deep playoff run.
