It's no secret that the Kansas City Chiefs no longer have an elite wide receiver. However, they now have better receivers than when Tyeek Hill was in town. Hey, it doesn't matter too much, either.

Patrick Mahomes just had a career year, won the MVP award, won a Super Bowl, and won the Super Bowl MVP without Tyreek Hill, the guy said to be Mahomes' "bailout" guy.

It is said the Chiefs are still missing that speed factor, though, especially now with Mecole Hardman gone too. And, sure, they are. They have fast guys, but none like Hill or Hardman fast. But who is the fastest guy now?

"Well, I can tell you who's going to say he's the fastest; MVS [Marquez Valdes-Scantling]. He's going to say that; I know that for sure," offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said. "But there are probably about two or three other guys in there that are going to be right there with him. So I don't know, football fast versus the clock fast at the combine on the track, etc."

This year's speed shouldn't be an issue, even if everyone thinks it may. Even this last year, yes, they still had Hardman, but they didn't have him after Week 12, even going into the playoffs and Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are one of the best-adjusting teams, and teams that can play to their strengths. However, they think they have some good speed this year.

"I think we have some good speeds out there that can take the top off; it can affect the coverages with the different types of cover two and cover four shells they want to play," Nagy continued. "And you know, Tyreek [Hill], you just mentioned Tyreek; I mean, that's another level of speed that his league really doesn't have. Some guys may say that, but Tyreek is on a different level. So we really like the guys we have and the speed we have."

The Chiefs seem comfortable with where things are at heading into the season. This is a super deep receiver room, that they haven't had in a while. We could see seven receivers on the initial 53-man roster, all with enough speed to get the job done.
