Chiefs' defense knows all too well about 49ers big weapon

The Kansas City Chiefs have a history with the San Francisco 49ers, but we all knew that already. While these two have only played a total of 14 times in the regular season, it is almost always a great matchup, which is why the all-time record is tied at 7-7.

However, the Chiefs got the best of the 49ers last time they played. The 49ers were up big in the Super Bowl, but the Chiefs had other things in mind.

This 49ers offense is just as good this year, if not better. They just recently added superstar running back Christian McCaffrey. Oh, and let's not forget about Deebo Samuel, one of the best weapons in the league, and a guy who literally does it all. But, the Chiefs know all too well about him.

“You don’t see a lot of guys that can do that, and he is very effective in both spots, so that’s what makes him really effective and a really good football player,” Chiefs' safety Juan Thornhill said.

The last time these two played in a meaningful game, or Super Bowl 54, Thornhill was on the sidelines wearing street clothes. He tore his ACL in the 2019 season and was very upset he couldn't help his team on the field as they won the Super Bowl. This time around I'm sure Thornhill will want to help his team get the win on the field.

The Chiefs struggled last week against two great receivers in this league in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis on the Buffalo Bills, and it doesn't help that Samuel is used in a variety of different ways as compared to those two.

Last week was a great way to prepare for Samuel when it comes to the passing game, but trying to stop him and McCaffrey in the backfield could give the Chiefs trouble.

Thornhill and the rest of the Chiefs' defense know all too well, though. They did it once in 2019, nd they can do it again, but this time with a better defense.
