The Philadelphia Eagles will officially have their star defensive tackle available for Week 2’s Super Bowl LIX rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Carter was disqualified from the Eagles’ Week 1 game against the Dallas Cowboys, not even one play into the game, after he was seen spitting on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. There was a ton of speculation heading into Week 2 that the NFL could suspend Carter based on their 2025 season emphasis on sportsmanship. Well, the NFL did decide to suspend Carter, just not in a way that will impact the Week 2 game against Kansas City.

According to reporting from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the league will treat his ejection from the Week 1 game against the Cowboys as a one-game suspension and fine Carter $57,222.

Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Schefter they would not appeal the decision: “After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game.”

Chiefs’ O-Line will face Eagles DT Jalen Carter once again

Carter actually didn’t have his best game against the Chiefs’ O-Line in Super Bowl LIX. He recorded two pressures, including a QB hit on Patrick Mahomes, on 41 defensive snaps. He also had one missed tackle in the game, according to Pro Football Focus. He’s probably aware of that and looking to play better this go around at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. For the Chiefs’ offense, the 6-foot-3, 315-pound Carter is the type of impact defender that you have to game-plan for. If you don’t know where he is at all times, he can wreck your plan, whether we’re talking about the run game or the passing game.
