Fresh off of their second Super Bowl win in four seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs gave one of their veterans a new contract.

As of Tuesday, center Austin Reiter has signed a reserve/future with the Chiefs.

Reserve/future contracts mean that a player, in this case, Reiter, will be signed for training camp but won't count against the Chiefs roster limit until March 15 when teams are allowed to have up to 90 players.

Reiter started 32 games for the Chiefs from 2018 to 2020 and was their starting center in both of their Super Bowl appearances during that span. He came back for his second stint last March, and has been released and resigned twice.

Reiter was called up from the practice squad on multiple occasions during the postseason but he didn't play in either game, making the 2021 season the last time he took a meaningful snap when he was with the Miami Dolphins.
