The Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 for "Monday Night Football" at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs will be without RB Isiah Pacheco (IR), WR Hollywood Brown (IR), and WR Rashee Rice (IR) for this game. The Saints also ruled out five players heading into the Week 5 prime-time game, including a former Kansas City draft pick. Both teams will have some substantial injuries to navigate in this one.

Here's a quick breakdown of the inactive players for each team during Monday evening's game:

Chiefs inactive players:

  • OT Ethan Driskell
  • OL CJ Hanson
  • DE Cam Thomas
  • DT Marlon Tuipulotu

Saints inactive players:

  • OL Cesar Ruiz
  • TE Taysom Hill
  • DE Payton Turner
  • LB Willie Gay Jr.
  • LB Pete Werner
  • DT Khristian Boyd
  • QB Spencer Rattler

Observations:

This makes five consecutive weeks without a practice squad elevation for Kansas City. Andy Reid said the following when asked about potential wide receiver elevations on Saturday: "I'll visit with (Brett) Veach, but right now I think we're good with who we've got up at wide receiver."

Kansas City still has just 52 players on their active roster, which means they're only required to make four players inactive for Week 5.

The Chiefs have had this same group of inactive players three times so far this season.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire remains on the NFI list. He has not yet been activated to the 53-man roster and therefore does not need to be declared inactive. He did have his 21-day practice window opened this past week.

In addition to Willie Gay Jr., the Saints will be without former Chiefs DE Tanoh Kpassagnon who is on the Reserve/PUP list. Former Chiefs S Tyrann Mathieu and DT Khalen Saunders WILL play on Monday night.
