Chiefs’ inactive players list for Thanksgiving game vs. Cowboys confirms one player will make his 2025 debut — it could be a glimpse at the future
The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys have released their inactive players lists for the Week 13 Thanksgiving Day game.
The Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys have each released their inactive lists ahead of their Week 13 Thanksgiving showdown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday.
The Chiefs will be a bit shorthanded with three players ruled out for the game, but they called up a pair of reinforcements from the practice squad. The Cowboys will also be missing a pair of starters on both sides of the ball. With each team battling to get right in a short week of preparation, it might come down to which team has better depth.
Here’s a quick look at the inactive players for Week 13:
Chiefs’ inactive players for Week 13
- RG Trey Smith
- TE Noah Gray
- WR Jalen Royals
- OL Esa Pole
- RB Elijah Mitchell
- DB Chris Roland-Wallace
- CB Kristian Fulton
With Noah Gray ruled out, Chiefs second-year TE Jared Wiley is active for the first time since he tore his ACL ahead of Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season. It’s a timely return for the Temple, Texas, native, who could be a big part of Kansas City’s plans when it comes to life after Travis Kelce.
Only one of the team’s practice squad elevations, S Mike Edwards, is active for the Week 13 game against the Cowboys. The team also elevated Esa Pole, who is slated to be inactive. It’s unclear why the team elevated Pole only to make him inactive.
Elijah Mitchell is a healthy scratch for the second consecutive week.
Interestingly, the Chiefs are going with CB Joshua Williams over Kristian Fulton this week. Fulton had been active in the past two games after being a healthy scratch in prior weeks.
Cowboys’ inactive players for Week 13
- LT Tyler Guyton
- CB Caelen Carson
- RB Jaydon Blue
- WR Jonathan BMingo
- DT Jay Toia
- DT Perrion Winfrey
Cowboys starting LT Tyler Guyton is out with a high ankle sprain. He’ll be replaced by Nate Thomas, who has looked good for Dallas this season.
Cowboys left cornerback Caelen Carson will miss Week 13 due to a hamstring injury. The Cowboys elevated Topeka, Kansas, native Corey Ballentine from the practice squad as a result.
Chiefs’ remaining 2025 schedule after Week 13
- Week 14: Texans
- Week 15: Chargers
- Week 16: @ Titans
- Week 17: Broncos
- Week 18: @ Raiders
